The Asmlash-Grant Foundation will accept external writing contributions to better amplify the situation in Tigray during the war.
The Asmlash-Grant Foundation accepts the following types of articles from external contributors:
- News articles (Tigray related)
- Essays (investigative writing on different issues related to Tigray)
- Opinion or commentary pieces
- Stories of war victims and refugees (experiences of those in Tigray and/or individuals that recently left the region)
The Asmlash-Grant Foundation will accept and review external writing contributions that address the following:
- The different facets of the crisis during the war on Tigray;
- Humanitarian crisis during the war on Tigray; and
- Tigrayan experiences during the war on Tigray.
When submitting articles to Asmlash-Grant Foundation, the writer should consider the following:
- The writing should be apolitical, fair, and balanced. It should not intend to offend any group of people or non-public figure individuals.
- The writing should intend to educate the public about the atrocities being committed in Tigray, Tigray’s history, and/or Tigray’s future.
- The writing should be 500 words or less.
- The writer must agree to reasonable edits. The writer may be allowed to review the final version before it is posted on the Asmlash-Grant Foundation website.
- The writer can choose to stay anonymous.

What You’ll Do
- Day-to-day community management across the Asmlash-Grant Foundation’s core social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
- Scheduling content while coordinating social media content calendar to maintain a regular presence on the Asmlash-Grant Foundation’s social media channels that balances generated content with real-time commentary and external resources.
- Collaborating with the Director and Content Creators on the Asmlash-Grant Foundation’s social media strategy and development of new campaigns.
- Tracking organic social media analytics to report on progress towards goals and make data-backed campaign or audience engagement decisions.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of executing engaging social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks, primarily: using social media scheduling platforms and documenting analytics in Excel.
- Excellent communications and customer service skills.

- Transform concepts into strong visual assets for our social, web & digital channels. Including investor, donor and stakeholder presentations & materials.
- Use your unique voice and style to develop captivating social content and outstanding visuals that bring the Asmlash-Grant Foundation to life and deeply engages thousands of users as we continue to scale.
- Bring strategic, innovative ideas to life from concept through execution, adjusting with feedback along the way.
Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of After Effects and Premiere a plus.
- High-quality branding, storytelling, and producing engaging content and campaigns excite you!
- Growth mindset, a deep sense of ‘extreme ownership’ for projects, not afraid of failure or taking risks and boldly ambitious.

What You’ll Do
- Well-written and compelling marketing or communication materials; examples include a brochure, blog post, one-pager/fact sheet, fundraising/promotional materials.
- Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our organization’s tone and mission, writing clean, concise, and well-polished.
- Edit content produced by your teammates, including conceptualizing the projects upfront and copy-editing prior to publishing.
Qualifications
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Experience in copywriting, marketing, public relations, communications or journalism preferred.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Extremely organized and able to stay on top of a fast-paced environment.
